Instagram, interior inspiration apps and magazines are all terrific ways to discover trends, looks, products and processes. But nothing beats seeing things in real life!

Our Sydney kitchen and bathroom showroom in Padstow will help bring your ideas to life. Touching, feeling and seeing how certain fibres, materials, finishes, products, and palettes work will add rocket fuel to your interior vision. Our Interior Designers Arrange a House Visit to You

This is a no-cost step in the Designline renovation process. Whether you’re after a laundry renovation, kitchen renovation, bathroom renovation or all three at once, we’ll send the right Designline room expert to your home.

We also continue to exchange ideas as we become familiar with your space and what you want to achieve. We’ll share thoughts on the spot and answer any questions. We will also take an opportunity to measure up the space.

Home Renovation Questions – Information Gathering is Key

The ‘question-asking’ stage is an important element of this kitchen and bathroom renovation guide. We will ask you questions such as:

  • Who is using the space, and their needs.
  • How important storage might be (it’s crucial for most homes!).
  • Whether the existing layout works or needs to be altered to improve function and flow.
  • Whether a small space can be optimised or if an alteration may be necessary.
  • If sustainability is an important factor.
  • Knowing if form or function is the priority.
  • How and where to optimise lighting and ventilation.
  • What materials will work best, and what is the client leaning towards.
  • Any extra building or trade work that is not part of a standard renovation.
  • The budget available.

We Present Your Renovation Concept at Our Showroom

At this step in the process, the Designline team will have:

  • Taken your space and vision back to our planning board and thought things through.
  • Moved the project from drawings, notes and thoughts into more tangible plans on the computer.
  • Itemised every item and trade you will need and created a renovation budget.

Once we’ve done all this, we invite you back to our Sydney showroom to present to you in person. We step through every item in the plan and the renovation budget so you know each cost, specific step and time frame. We leave no stone unturned. We bring all materials to you so you can touch, feel and truly understand what we recommend.

This stage is still free of charge. If you are happy to proceed with Designline, we receive your written approval to go ahead, at which point a small holding deposit is required. You will receive a copy of your plans and the scope of works.

Finalising Renovation Plans & Scope of Works

It’s important to realise that there may be a few more steps in the kitchen and bathroom renovation at this point. For example, you may want to consider a different tapware style or make physical changes to the layout.

We will liaise with any tradespeople whose additional work might be needed for out-of-the-ordinary activity such as moving drainage, providing an engineer’s report on wall removals, upgrading electrical switchboards, etc. We will consolidate their thoughts and costings and submit them to you.

We also iron out any crinkles and finalise all selections. Any budget alterations are usually dependent on your requirements, such as changes to selections or additional work required.

Your Renovation Plan is Official – Let the Exciting Times Begin!

Now we’re underway!

At this stage, our project management team will contact you to confirm your final renovation schedule and provide access to our project management portal. Our team is committed to making your renovation a success and you will hear from them at least once a week during the full duration of your project.

Every client appreciates a set of clear home renovation steps. Why not meet with us in person to discuss what we can plan for you?
